One or More LDAP Users are Not Displaying in the DocuShare LDAP Groups That They Are Members of

Issue

One or more LDAP Users that are members of a group are not displaying in DocuShare. Synchronization in DocuShare via Admin Home | LDAP Accounts| Synchronize has been attempted and no errors display. However, the users are still not listed the group in DocuShare.

Note: Other users are listed in the DocuShare group.

Reason

Active Directory (AD) users who have their primary group (PrimaryGroupID) set to a group do not get added to the group membership in DocuShare even though LDAP displays the users as part of the group.

This is an LDAP limitation. LDAP is POSIX compliant, and does not recognize users who have the primary group set (PrimaryGroupID). Essentially, the users aren’t member of that group.

Workaround

Change the users PrimaryGroupID to something other than the group being pulled will resolve the issue.
