Overview
The search bar in the top navigation can include a mode selector that lets you switch between standard Search and Content Assistant Search before you submit a query.
If Premium Search is enabled for your site, an additional selector may appear so you can choose between Regular and Premium search before running the search.
Available Search Options
| Option | Description |
| Search | Runs the standard search experience for the query you enter. |
| Content Assistant Search | Runs the Content Assistant search experience when that feature is available in your environment. |
| Regular / Premium | An additional selector that appears only in environments where Premium Search is enabled. |
How to Run a Search
- Click the search bar in the top navigation.
- Select the search mode you want to use, such as Search or Content Assistant Search.
- If a Regular / Premium selector is displayed, choose the search type you want to use.
- Enter your search text and press Enter.
- DocuShare Go returns results using the search mode you selected.
Expected Behavior
- You can change the search mode before each search without leaving the page.
- Pressing Enter runs the currently selected mode.
- The Regular / Premium selector is shown only when Premium Search is enabled for the site.
- The available options may differ by environment, depending on which search features are enabled.
When to Use Each Option
Use Search when you want the standard DocuShare Go search experience.
Use Content Assistant Search when you want to run the Content Assistant search experience available for your environment.
If Premium Search is available, choose the option that best fits your organization's configured search workflow.
Troubleshooting
- If you do not see Content Assistant Search, confirm that the feature is enabled for your site.
- If you do not see the Regular / Premium selector, Premium Search may not be enabled in your environment.
- If the expected option should be available but is missing, contact your DocuShare administrator or Xerox support.
