1. Gather the LDAP information using the LDE.exe or LDIFDE.exe LDAP tool
Note: Click the solution link listed at the bottom of the page for detailed information on How To Use the LDIFDE Tool to Gather LDAP Information.
Note: This information will help you determine what the name of the LDAP attribute is for you to use in DocuShare.
2. Add the Custom Property in DocuShare.
Note: In this example, we will use the “Office†attribute which the LDAP attribute name is physicalDeliveryOfficeName.
a. Log into DocuShare as admin.
b. Click Admin Home| Object Properties | User. The User – Property Values page displays.
c. From the Add Custom Property menu choose the type as per requirement (Example: string for office address, integer for telephone number etc.) then click Go.
Note: Select Group instead of User to Add a Group Custom Property and then follow the same steps.
d. Fill the object properties and click Apply.
e. Click Admin Home | Object Properties | Update Properties and then click Submit changes.
3. Binding LDAP Attribute to user/group:
a. Browse to Admin Home | Account Management | LDAP Accounts | Bind User. The Bind User page displays.
Note: If you are binding a group attribute select Bind Group instead of User and then follow the same steps.
b. Place the LDAP Attribute (noted earlier) to DocuShare Property (Ex: office -- String -- physicalDeliveryOfficeName)
c. Click the Apply button.
d. Click Admin Home | Account Management | LDAP accounts. The Synchronize page displays.
e. Click the Synchronize All button.
f. Browse to the User’s Properties page and verify that the new LDAP attribute is displayed.
Note: Synchronizing groups may lead to misplacement of users organized in DocuShare.
