Tomcat Interacts With IIS Option Is Greyed Out When Installing DocuShare

Note: This applies to Windows 2008 Server.

Issue

Solution

1. The CGI and ASAPI Roles must be added in IIS.

To Add the CGI and ASAPI roles to IIS:

a. Select Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Server Manager. The Server Manager window displays.

b. Click the [+] sign next to Roles to expand the option scroll down to the IIS section.

c. Highlight Web Server (IIS).

d. From the Web Server (IIS) window pane on the right hand side scroll down until Role Services: is displayed.

e. Click Add Role Service link on the right hand side of the screen. The Add Role Service wizard displays.

f. Under Web Server | Application Development (Installed)

g. Place a checkmark in the ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters checkboxes

h. Click the Next button

i. Verify the roles that you selected to install and then click the Install button.

j. Once installation completes verify that the ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters roles are listed under Application Development as installed.

2. The IIS 6 Management Role must be added in IIS.

To Add the IIS 6 Management Role to IIS:

a. Select Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Server Manager. The Server Manager window displays.

b. Click the [+] sign next to Roles to expand the option scroll down to the IIS section.

c. Highlight Web Server (IIS).

d. From the Web Server (IIS) window pane on the right hand side scroll down until Role Services: is displayed.

e. Check to see if IIS 6 Management Compatibility Role Services are installed.

f. If they are not installed, Right Click on Web Server IIS and Add Role service.

g. In the list, select IIS 6 Management Compatibility and click install.

3. Restart IIS.

4. Try Installing DocuShare again, when you get to the IIS Integration section the option should no longer be greyed out.

Note: If the DocuShare Installation Wizard was open then you will need to cancel and restart it.
