Listed below are the minimum server requirements for CPU, RAM, and disk space for product installation and basic operations.

 

DocuShare® 7.7 Minimum Server Requirements

Listed below are the minimum server requirements. Requirements for CPU, RAM, and disk space are for product installation and basic operations only. The exact configuration required to support satisfactory performance varies depending on the number of users and documents, document size, and other factors. Response varies depending on server and end-user workstation speed, memory, network, and server workload. For additional configuration information based on the number of users and documents, refer to Additional Server Configurations.

 

DocuShare® 7.7

Intel or AMD platforms

  • Windows 2019 Server (64 bit)

  • Windows Server 2022 (64 bit)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8 (64 bit)

  • Dual 3.0 GHz processor or better (IA-32 or x64)

  • 8 GB RAM or higher

  • 40 GB of free disk space

  • Ethernet network interface

Virtual Server

  • An average use installation requires for each virtual server; a minimum of 4 GB virtual memory and 40 GB of free disk space for the operating system and DocuShare software.

  • If a database and stored documents are on the same virtual server; a minimum of 8 GB virtual memory and 200 GB of free disk space.

  • A high use installation requires for each virtual server; a 64 bit OS, 16 GB virtual memory, and 2 TB of free disk space.

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (64-Bit)

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (64-Bit)

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2022 (64 bit) (requires DocuShare 7.7 Patch 1)

  • Oracle 19c LTS

  • Oracle 21c (21.6)

  • PostgreSQL 13

  • PostgreSQL 15

LDAP

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Apple Safari: latest on OSX and iOS

DocuShare® Testing

We focus DocuShare testing on the most popular combinations of operating systems, databases, Web servers, and LDAP directory servers; these are our reference platforms.

DocuShare does run in many operating environments beyond our reference platforms. However, since we do not test beyond our references, we cannot claim DocuShare will work on other platforms.

 

DocuShare® Upgrade

Upgrade from earlier versions of DocuShare are supported as follows:

  • DocuShare 7.0 Update 1 Patch 3 to DocuShare 7.7
  • DocuShare 7.5 Patch 2 to DocuShare 7.7
  • DocuShare 7.6 Patch 5 to DocuShare 7.7
