Please be advised that some DocuShare 6.5 upgrades have been experiencing critical issues with full site indexing of content with the IDOL search server. Customers experiencing problems are unable to index and search some types of content following upgrade, and run the risk of receiving incomplete search results. There is no loss of data related to this issue.
DocuShare Customer Support recommends the following actions:
- Planned upgrades to DocuShare 6.5.2 should be postponed until a resolution is provided.
- If you have recently upgraded to DocuShare 6.5 and are experiencing problems please contact Customer Support.
The problem exists in DocuShare 6.5.0 and 6.5.2. It is possible that customers who have upgraded to either of these versions may be unaware of indexing issues as it is possible for a site index to complete successfully with individual document failures.
- Customers who have recently upgraded to DocuShare 6.5 should check their systems to ensure indexing has completed successfully. (instructions included in the FAQ)
DocuShare Development is working diligently to ensure a solution is found as quickly as possible. However, we do not currently have a timeline for resolution. An interim solution will be made available shortly that will allow sites to complete metadata indexing of failed documents to allow them to be found via property searches in DocuShare.
