In the Network Tab of DocuShare Drive Properties, under Authentication, the following options exist:
· Integrate with Windows logon: Provides access to all mapped DocuShare servers by logging onto your Windows desktop. Your encrypted Windows logon information and DocuShare credentials are stored in a private registry, which enables access to DocuShare using a single logon.
Note: If the DocuShare server is configured for auto-login, then the same functionality is provided.
· Prompt for password for each DocuShare account: Displays a logon window each time you access the DocuShare server.
· Authenticate based on my Windows user credentials is basically the same option as above. However, this allows a User to change the Default Setting .
You can disable use of this feature when you map a server by clicking the Advanced button and then unchecking Authenticate based on my Windows user credentials. The DocuShare administrator can configure a DocuShare server to use the auto-login feature. That feature allows Windows domain authentication to handle DocuShare login authentication. If a DocuShare server is configured for auto-login, the feature is automatically enabled for DocuShare Drive.
DocuShare Drive (DSDrive) can be configured for either option by default, but when mapping an additional DocuShare Server, this can be changed so that Authentication can occur differently, such as for the Network User who needs to also login to DocuShare as “Adminâ€
