DocuShare Drive error code 0x4E21 while mapping Server during install

Problem

During installation of DocuShare Drive (DS Drive), an error appears “error code 0x4E21†when mapping to the DocuShare Server. This causes Microsoft Office to become unresponsive and the rebooting Windows may be necessary to recover.

Reason/ Possible Cause

This issue can happen if DocuShare is not at the required level for DS Drive. The DocuShare Drive Release Notes indicate that DocuShare must be at version 6.6.1 Update 2 or higher.

Solution

Verify that DocuShare is at version 6.6.1 and install Update 1 followed by Update 2 (if necessary).

Note: If DocuShare is at version 6.5.3 or older, you may upgrade to DocuShare version 6.6.1 R2 which is the same as 6.6.1 Update2.
