Error Code 1159: The server process is too low on memory to run this request

Issue

The stack trace (displayed below) can appear during normal DocuShare functions, adding a document, viewing properties, viewing a collection.

Issue/Stack Trace:

Error Code 1159: The server process is too low on memory to run this request. The system is trying to free some memory, and this request may work later, if re-submitted.

Reason / Possible Cause

This error is a general error and does not mean any particular service is running out of memory, just that there is an overall lack of resources.

Note: This error has been seen on Server 2003 32 bit which can only make use of 3.5gb of memory and in environments that have DocuShare and SQL installed on the same box.

Solution

Review the resources on the DocuShare Server and verify that sufficient memory and server meets requirements.
