Issue
Email Agent fails to pull messages from inbox.
The following error may be displayed in the logs:
Mailagent.stdError logs shows: 13 Sep 2012 10:19:28 - [Thread[Thread-72,5,main]] - javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: EOF on socket
Solution
The above error indicates a connectivity issue with the SMTP server.
1. Verify that the Mail Agent Email Server Type is set correctly.
a. Log into DocuShare as admin.
b. Click Admin Home | Services & Components | Email Agent | Email Account. The Email Account Configuration page displays.
c. Verify the correct Email Server Type is selected in the drop down menu.
Note: Valid options are POP3 and IMAP. If you are unsure of the proper selection based on your environment, contact your company’s email server administrator.
2. The IP Address of the DocuShare Server may need to be granted access to SMTP Server.
Note: If the SMTP server is rejecting POP3 connections from all or specific IP addresses, then the IP Address of the DocuShare Server must be added to an exception list to be granted access.
