Issue
Idol server will not start after upgrading to DocuShare 6.5.x or higher.
The Xerox\Docushare\IDOLServer\IDOL\logs\Content_application.log file shows the following error:
The drive on which C:\Xerox\Docushare\IDOLServer\IDOL\content\numeric/ is mounted has only XX MB disk space remaining. The folder requires at least 1053 MB free space. ERROR: Insufficient disk space. Exiting
Where XX is the amount of disk space remaining
Solution
· Move the documents directory to a separate drive to free up disk space. (if this has not already been done) See knowledge base solution How To Change the Document Repository Directory Path link listed under related solutions at the bottom of the page.
· Allocate more disk space to the drive (if possible)
· If you can’t allocate more free space you may have to move the idol files to a separate drive. See knowledge base solution How To Move the IDOL Index Files to a Separate Disk/Partition link listed under related solutions at the bottom of the page.
Note: Once there is ample space available and DocuShare has been restarted please verify the \IDOLSERVER\IDOL\logs\content_application.log for any new errors that might occur during startup. Sometimes indices can become corrupted when the drives runs out of space. If this occurs, please contact support.
