Issue
When a user opens a PowerPoint document from the DocuShare Web UI, instead of opening using the PowerPoint application it opens within the browser as a slideshow.
Solution
Note: You must be a Windows Administrator to perform this solution.
Warning: Back up the Registry file before editing. Changes made to the Windows registry can cause the operating system to stop functioning and may require reinstalling Windows.
1. Click Start and select Run. The Run window displays.
2. Type regedit and click the OK button. The Registry Editor window displays.
3. Locate the following registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PowerPoint.Show.8
4. If the REG_DWORD value of name BrowserFlags is not there, then right click on an empty space and Select New | DWORD Value.
Note: If you have a REG_DWORD value of name BrowserFlags. Proceed to step 6.
5. Type BrowserFlags for the new DWORD Value Name.
6. Right click BrowserFlags DWORD Value and select Modify. The Edit DWORD Value window displays.
7. In the Value data: field type “a†(without quotes). The Base field should have Hexadecimal selected. Click the OK button to save the changes.
8. Close the Registry Editor window.
9. Try opening a PowerPoint document from the DocuShare Web UI.
