Note: This solution applies to DocuShare 3.1, 4.x, 5.x, 6.0.x, 6.1.x, 6.3, 6.5.x, 6.6.x, and 7.
Prerequisite:
• A collection that you would like to be a Root Collection (displayed on the Homepage) must be already be created on your DocuShare site inside of an existing collection.
To add a Root Collection to a DocuShare Homepage
1. To make the Collection Appear on the Homepage.
a. Login to DocuShare with an account with Admin or Content Admin privileges.
b. Click the Properties icon for the Collection you would like to make a Root Collection. The View Properties page will be displayed.
c. Click the Edit link. (in previous versions click the Properties tab) The Edit (or Properties) page will be displayed depending on the version of DocuShare that you are running.
d. Scroll down the page to the Appears On Home Page option is displayed.
e. Select Yes and then click the Apply button.
Note: You can remove the location where the collection originally displayed so that the collection will only display on the Homepage. If only this portion of the solution is not done then your collection will be displayed on the Homepage and in the Collection it was originally created in.
2. Removing your Collection from its Original Location (only displaying the collection on the Homepage)
a. Click the Properties icon on the new Root Collection you just created. The Properties page will be displayed.
b. Click the Locations icon or tab depending on the version of DocuShare your are running. The Locations page will be displayed.
c. From the Selected Locations section, click the collection that the new Root Collection displays in (where you originally created the collection you wanted to become a root collection), then click Remove.
d. Click the Update Locations button. Your Collection should only be displayed at the Root now.
