Under the basic site license you may use two languages, and choose one as your default language. If your site has an expanded license, you may use additional languages.
With languages installed and licensed, site users may configure their browsers to view the site in a selected language. Most of the site text, art, messages, and documentation appear in the selected languages. DocuShare does not translate uploaded user documents.
Set the default language for the site and enable or disable the installed languages. You must first install the desired languages by loading them from an optional DocuShare Language Pack.
Prerequisite:
· The Language Pack must already be installed.
Note: Select the How To Add a Language solution link listed at the bottom of the page for detailed instructions or refer to the DocuShare Installation Guide.
· You must be the DocuShare Administrator to perform this solution.
To set the default language:
1. From the Administration menu, click Site Management | Installed Languages.
The Installed Languages page appears, displaying the current settings.
1. In the Default Language field, use the menu to select the primary language for your site.
2. In the Enable Language field, select Yes to enable a specific language.
3. If you want to save your changes, click Apply.
4. DocuShare saves your language changes.
Note: In order for the browser to display the correct language pack you also have to add that language to the browser setting
Examples:
o In Firefox v34 Open the options menu and select Content. In the Languages section click Choose. Add the desired language, then click OK to save the changes.
o Internet Explorer v10 select Internet Options, in the Appearance section click Languages button. Add the desired language, then click OK to save the changes.
When you navigate to DocuShare it will display the proper language.
Note: Please refer to the browser help or their website to obtain the most current information. If necessary, contact the vendor directly for additional information.
