This solution removes the alternating images from the Homepage on DocuShare.
Note: For instructions on how to change the alternating images to your own 4 company images click the How To Change the Alternating Images from the Homepage link listed at the bottom of this solution.
Solution:
Note: This solution applies to DocuShare 6.x
Note: You must be a Windows Administrator to perform this solution
Note: Verify that you have a backup of the original file before modifying the copy, this will allow you to revert back to the original file if the changes do not produce the desired result. (Steps 1-4 of the solution provides steps for creating a copy of the original file)
To remove the images:
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate into the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\system folder
2. Make a copy of the DocuShareHomePage.vdf file
3. Browse to the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\local folder
Note: If a local folder does not exist you will need to create one.
4. Paste the DocuShareHomePage.vdf file into the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\local folder.
Note: DocuShare will look for the local directory for customized VDFs before going to the (default) system folder.
5. Open the DocuShareHomePage.vdf file that is located in the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\local directory using a text editor such as Notepad.
6. Search for Login Area heading and find the statements listed below in the example.

7. Immediately after the Login Area statement, there is another statement for the Banner Image. The statement needs to be commented out by adding the at the end of the statement. See example entry that needs to be deleted is shown in purple below.

Note: The statement below can be removed if preferred. However, commenting the statement out will allow you to easily add it back in if you would like it again.
8. Refresh the webpage before and after login. The pictures should no longer be displayed.
Note: If the checkbox is still listed you should verify the changes made in the steps above have been applied. In some instances a restart of DocuShare may be necessary to see the changes and/or checking the cache settings on the browser you are using (Example: Internet Explorer).
