Note: This applies to DocuShare 5.x, 6.x and 6.5.x
Note: 2GB file size limit is no longer an issue to 7.0 and newer.
Issue:
When you upload a large file (2 GB) to DocuShare it fails or the resulting file size displayed on the DocuShare Web UI and/or dsgetprop utility is a negative number.
For example, when you upload a file that is 3,602,182,656 bytes on the hard drive the DocuShare Web UI and/or the dsgetprop utility display a size of -692784640
Detailed Replication Information:
Uploading (2GB File)
· Internet Explorer 6 & Internet Explorer 7: Fail, due to Internet Explorer sending a negative content length
· Firefox 2.011, 3.02b: Fail, due to Firefox never sending the request
· Safari 3 beta: Success, due to Safari sending the correct content length
· Opera 9.25: Success, due to Opera sending the correct content length
Downloading (2G File)
· Internet Explorer 6 & Internet Explorer 7: Fail, due to DocuShare sending a negative content length
· Firefox 2.011 & 3.02b: Success, even though DocuShare is sending a negative content length
· Safari 3 beta: Success, even though DocuShare is sending a negative content length
· Opera 9.25: Success, even though DocuShare is sending a negative content length
Workaround:
When uploading files that are larger than 2 GB to DocuShare use Safari 3 or Opera 9.25
When downloading files that are larger than 2 GB from DocuShare use Firefox 2.011 or 3.02, Safari 3 or Opera 6.25
