Large Number of Cloned Objects Can Impact Indexing

When an administrator creates cloned objects on DocuShare, the objects are added to the property.map file in the [DSHome]/docucoll directory. When the total number of fields in the property.map file exceeds 256, the Autonomy (Verity) search service has difficulty completing a dsindex. The total number of fields is a combination of the number of cloned objects and their associated properties.

To check the current number of fields in property.map:

  1. Navigate to the [DSHome]/docucoll directory on the DocuShare server.
  2. Open the property.map file.
  3. Count the number of lines in the file, excluding the lines that begin with propname=null.
