Issue
The My Background Job link is displayed on the login screen of DocuShare and the link points to the admin users background job list; however, if a Guest clicks it an empty list will be displayed.
Workaround
Note: This applies to DocuShare 6.5.3
Note: You must be a Windows Administrator to perform this solution
Note: Verify that you have a backup of the original file before modifying the copy, this will allow you to revert back to the original file if the changes do not produce the desired result. (Steps 1-4 of the solution provides steps for creating a copy of the original file)
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate into the \amber\templates\system folder.
Where is replaced with the installation directory for DocuShare. The default installation directory is C:\Xerox\Docushare. Depending on your installation environment the path may vary.
2. Make a copy of the dslib.vdf file.
3. Browse to the \amber\templates\local folder.
Note: If a local folder does not exist you will need to create one.
4. Paste the dslib.vdf file into the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\local folder.
Note: DocuShare will look for the local directory for customized VDFs before going to the (default) system folder.
5. Open the dslib.vdf file that is located in the Xerox\Docushare\amber\templates\local directory using a text editor such as Notepad.
6. Search for the word background.
7. This should bring you to the line.
8. On the line next line under line add the following entry.
9. At the end of the section, right above line, add the following entry.
Example:
Note: The new entries added are displayed in red.
10. Save the file.
