Which log files are associated with each of the Services on the logging page of the Admin UI?

Note: This applies to DocuShare 6.6.x and DocuShare 7.


  • Admin Application Logging=admin.log

  • Archive Service Logging=dsarchive.stdout / dsarchive.stderror

  • Authentication Service Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stderror

  • Conversion Service Logging=conversion.stdout/conversion.stderr/converters.log. When set to DEBUG it will create a dsdis** log. Example: dsdisconversion_001

  • Database Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stderror

  • Directory Service Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stderror

  • Email Agent Logging=mailagent.stdOut/mailagent.stdError

  • Docushare Server Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stdError

  • Monitor Service Logging=Monitor.log

  • Search Service Logging=SearchServer.log, SearchServer.stdOut/SearchServer.stdError (increased logging level only logged in SearchServer.log)

  • Index Service Logging=IndexServer.log/IndexServer.stdOut/IndexServer.steError(increased logging level only logged in IndexServer.log)

  • Subscription Service Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stdError

  • Web Logging Level=tomcat.stdOut/tomcat.stdError

  • Webdav Service Logging=tomcat.stdOut/tomcat.stdError

  • Worflow Service Logging=WorkflowServer.stdOut/WorkflowServer.stdError

  • XDB Index Service Logging NO LONGER SUPPORTED

  • Background Job Service Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stdError

  • Content Intake Logging=DSServer.stdOut/DSServer.stdError


    Note: *.stdError files do not have increased logging level but should be referenced for errors.


    Note: Some subsystems in DocuShare may have their own log files. For example, IDOL. \IDOLServer\IDOL\logs.


    Other information on log files

  • If Repository Logging is enabled = Access.csv will be listed. (Admin Home | Site Management | Repository Log files). This log records the Users accessing DocuShare via the Web UI (including Internet BOTS) and client applications such as DSDrive.

    If DocuShare Add-Ons are enabled the following logs may also be present.

  • SMB Scanning=smbscan.stdError/smbscan.stdout

  • ConnectKey Logs=ScanningLog.csv and the ServerLog.txt. (located in the \tomact\webapps\connectkey\logs directory)

  • Mobile Client=ds_mobile_connector.log. (located in the \tomcat\logs and requires a manual edit to enable DEBUG logging)

  • Print & Email=PrintEmail.log (Requires a Manual edit to Increase log level)

  • LifecycleManager=LifecycleManager.stderror, LifecycleManager.StdOut, LifecycleManager.log (requires manual edit to increase the logs)

  • XPA=XPA.stdout/XPA.stdError

  • If a DocuShare custom application is being used for a CIM socket it will often be listed as CIM_.std out or CIM_.stdError
