You are not authorized to perform that operation

Note: This applies to DocuShare 6.6.x only.

Issue

When trying to access an object the following error message is displayed in the web UI of DocuShare.

Not Authorized

You are not authorized to perform that operation. The owner has restricted access to it.

You may login as another user.

Possible Cause / Reason

The Not Authorized error may be displayed if you are trying to access an object that has been deleted and\or expunged in DocuShare. The Not Authorized error will even be displayed if you are logged in as Admin (User-2) because the object has been deleted and is not accessible

Solution

Verify if the object is in the DocuShare trashcan and restore it if needed. Otherwise, the object may have been expunge therefore would have to be restored from previous backup if necessary.
