User Requirements
- The site must be licensed and configured for Office Connector viewing before users can open documents in the Office Viewer.
- The site must be licensed and configured for Office Connector editing before users can open documents in the Office Editor.
- Users need DocuShare permission to read a document to view it and sufficient DocuShare write permission to edit it.
- If a document is locked, only the user who holds the lock can edit it through Office Connector.
Supported File Types
Supported files display an Open in Office Viewer action and, when editing is enabled and permitted, an Open in Office Editor action. Unsupported files use normal DocuShare behavior, typically downloading to the browser or workstation.

When an Action Is Missing
- Confirm that the file type is supported.
- Confirm that Office Connector viewing or editing is enabled for the site.
- Confirm that the site has the required View or Edit license entitlement.
- Confirm that the user has read access for viewing or write access for editing.
