Note: Applies to DocuShare client build 6.0.6 build 101 & 103 using scan to desktop v10 (PaperPort 11.2 and Omnipage 16)
Issue
When using the PaperPort Link to DocuShare, an error/crash message displays and PaperPort becomes unresponsive when you drag and drop a PDF document longer than twelve pages to the DocuShare icon. This problem occurs when using PaperPort version 11.2, which is the version packaged with Xerox's Scan to PC Desktop Professional 10. The pplinks.exe process hangs/crashes.
Note: Killing the pplinks.exe brings PaperPort back to life, but the upload to DocuShare never takes place.
Solution
The cause of this problem is a DLL file (PDFCore8.dll) included in a third-party library that Nuance uses with the PaperPort application. To fix the problem, you need to install an updated version of PDFCore8.dll (8.0.0.16).
To install the updated DLL file:
1. Download pdfcore8.zip and extract the DLL file.

2. Close PaperPort.
3. Replace C:\Program Files\ScanSoft\PaperPort\PDFCore8.dll with the extracted file.
4. Restart PaperPort.
