Note: This applies to the DocuShare Windows Client.
Note: If the DocuShare client is already installed you can either re-run the installer and select modify or go into add/remove programs and select modify for the DocuShare client.
Before you begin, make sure the DscSetup.exe and DSClient.msi files are located in the same folder. To install the DocuShare Client, you must be an administrator on the computer.
1. Double-click DscSetup.exe.
Important: Do not launch the installation program from the DSClient.msi file.
2. If the User Account Control window displays, click Yes (or OK).
DocuShare Client Setup checks for the required prerequisites. If the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 C/C++ Redistributable Packages are not installed, you are prompted to install them.
3. Click OK to install the packages.
The DocuShare Client Setup window displays. Under Pre-installation check, Check buttons appear next to any prerequisites that need to be installed.
4. Wait until DocuShare Client Setup installs all required prerequisites.
5. After all the prerequisites are installed, click the Readme button to review the release notes.
6. On the Choose Setup screen select Custom and click Next. On the Choose folder locations make sure that the Program folder and the Work folder are accurate then click Next. On the Custom Setup Screen select the Paperport Connector along with any other features you wish to install and click Next.
Note: A supported version of PaperPort must be installed on the workstation before the DocuShare Windows Client is installed for it to detect the Paperport. If the client does not recognize that Paperport is installed it will not be available to select and install under the custom setup.
7. Follow the on screen instructions to finish the install.
