The following error is displayed in the \logs\Tomcat.stdout file and/or in the DocuShare Web UI.
Error: Exceeded limit for concurrent Guest logins
Reason
Search Bots may be accessing the website.
Solution
Prerequisites:
· Create a robots.txt file.
Note: For detailed information on How To Restrict Web Robots from Crawling the DocuShare Site click the solution link listed at the bottom of this page.
If the robots/web crawlers do not stop right away then you can block their individual IP addresses. When a robot first hits a website it does an initial check for a robots.txt file. If one does not exist it continues with indexing the site. If one is implemented while this process is taking place the robot may continue indexing. If you want to immediately block them follow the process below.

1. Log into DocuShare as admin.
2. Click Admin Home | Site Management | Repository Log Files. The Repository Log Files page will display.
3. Select Yes next to Enable Logging and then click the Apply button.
4. Click Admin Home | Site Management | Access Tracking. The Access Operation Tracking page displays.
5. Place a checkmark in the checkbox next to Collection Content Viewed then click the Apply button.
6. Login to be sure access is tracked.
7. After a few minutes go onto the file system into /Logs and open the access.csv file. In column C look for mention of any bot. See example below:
Where is replaced with the installation directory for DocuShare. The default installation path is C:\Xerox\DocuShare. Depending on your installation environment the path may vary.
(Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; GoogleBot/1.0; +http://google.com/crawler.html) and in column D you will see an ip address.
8. Select Start | Administrative Tools | Server Manager. The Server Manager window will open.
9. Click the [+] next to Roles. The Roles pane will display on the right.
10. Scroll down to the Web Server (IIS) section and click Add Role Services. The Add Role Services window will display.
11. In the Role services pane scroll down to the Security section and place a check mark in the checkbox next to IP and Domain Restrictions. Click Next button.
12. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
13. Open Internet Information Server (IIS) Manager.
14. Under the IIS Home/Top Level, double click the IP Address and Domain Restrictions icon. The IP Address and Domain Restrictions pane will display.
15. To restrict by IP address click on Add Deny Entry on the right and enter the IP address or range and click OK.
