Note: This applies to DocuShare 2.2 ONLY
The service pack installation replaces existing copies of the files in the DocuShare directory (see the Files section below). Backup copies of existing files are saved to the /uninstall/dsp22spX directory. (Where X is replaced with your Service Pack number)
In addition, the following databases are backed up:
/MetaData/Config.db
/template/en-us/message.db
/template/en-us/prop_message.db
Note: On a Sun Solaris server, you must be logged in as root. The environment variable DSHOME must be set to the DocuShare installation directory. Alternatively, from /bin/csh source the DocuShare/bin/setup_docushare script before beginning this procedure.
WARNING: Patches and Updates in DocuShare 2.2 were not cumulative therefore you must verify you meet the prerequisites before installing. For example Service Pack 2 requires that Service Pack 1 (SP1, SP1a, or SP1b).is already installed
1. Restrict Site Access to Administrator.
a. Log in as admin (or as a user with administrator privileges).
b. On the DocuShare Administration toolbar, click Account Management.
c. On the Site Access Policies page, note the current Site Access Authority.
d. Change the Site Access Authority to Administrator.
e. Click Update Properties.
2. Download or copy the zip file to a temporary directory.
Example:
· dsp22SP2.zip (NT)
· tar file dsp22SP2.tar.Z (Solaris)
3. Unzip/extract/uncompress the file.
Note: On NT, the unzip program should support long filenames. If using WinZip, verify that the "Use folder names" checkbox is selected.
4. Change (cd) to the resulting dsp22SPX directory.
Where X is the replaced with the Service Pack number. For example, dssp22SP2
5. In a command prompt window, type dspatch to install the service pack.
6. Return the Site Access Authority to the setting noted in step 1.
