Issue:
If you add DocuShare mapped Collection to your favorites in Outlook, then close outlook and reopen it the Favorite Collections no longer appear or may not be accessible.
NOTE: This solution refers to creating a Favorite Folder for a Collection not a Mapped Server. The Favorite Folder Collection mappings are not kept in RAM by default so after outlook is closed the memory is flushed with removes the link in the “My Favorite Foldersâ€.
NOTE: This solution is valid for Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 and DS Client 6.0.4 and 6.0.5 (build 95)
Workarounds Available:
Solution A: De-select the option “Keep Temp data stored in RAM for Speedâ€
This solution is valid for Outlook 2007 on Vista
From a workstation that has the issue,
1. Close Outlook 2007
2. Right click on the DocuShare Client and Select DocuShare Client Settings. The DocuShare Client Properties will be displayed.
3. Click on the Outlook Tab.
4. Click on the [Advanced] Button at the bottom. The Advanced Settings window will be displayed.
5. Under the DocuShare Server Folder heading clear the checkbox for the option "Keep Temporary Data in RAM for Speed"
6. Click the [OK] button.
7. On the DocuShare Client Properties window click the [OK] button.
8. Open Outlook 2007
9. Add a "Collection" to Outlook mails "Favorite Folders"
10. Close Outlook 2007
11. Open Outlook 2007 again. The folder should still be available.
Solution B: Use DocuShare Shortcut instead of Outlook Favourite Folders
NOTE: Using this option instead would not require the de-selection of the “Keep Temporary Data in RAM†option which degrades the performance since it essentially “maps a collection†that is not stored in RAM
From a workstation that has the issue,
- Open Outlook
- Click [Tools] from the file menu
- Select [Create DocuShare Shortcut]. The Select DocuShare Folder window will appear.
- Select [Yes, I wish to create a shortcut to: ].
- Click on the [Next] button. The Confirm Shortcut Creation window will be displayed.
- Specify a name for the shortcut in the field displayed.
- Click on the [Finish] button.
