The Delete Shortcut Feature Takes Several Minutes to Complete on Large Collections

Note: This applies to DocuShare client build 6.5 build 9 with Outlook 2007.

Issue

If you create a shortcut in Outlook 2007 for a Collection with a large volume of child and grandchild objects it takes several minutes to delete the shortcut.

Replication Steps:

1. Open Outlook 2007.

2. Map a Server.

3. Select Tools | Create DocuShare Shortcut

4. Create a Shortcut to a collection that has a large number of objects.

5. Open the DocuShare Mapping in Outlook 2007.

6. Right-click on the Shortcut to the large Collection and select Delete Shortcut.

Cause / Reason

Outlook initiates a hierarchy query at the time of the delete operation and this causes the delete to take a long time.

Fixed in DocuShare Client 6.5 build 24
