Issue
OCR module reduces PDF image quality.
Reason
The OCR module is pre-set for low resolutions to avoid huge files and timeouts doing the OCR.
Solution
Select the Substitute Image PDF option instead of the Searchable Image Format. The Searchable Image Format option degrades the overall view quality.
Example:
When creating a content rule and the Conversion Options page displays:
1. From the Converter Names menu select OCRConverter.
2. From the Rendition menu select Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) – application/pdf.
3. From the Rendition detail menu select Substitute Image PDF.
4. Click the Next button and complete creating the content rule as desired.
Note: The downside is that the Substitute Image PDF does not handle image overlays as well as the Searchable Image Format.
