Copy URL function doesn't work for Office 2007 Documents

Note: This solution applies to the DocuShare Windows Client build 95

Issue

When a user right-click’s on an Office 2007 document and selects Edit | Copy URL it generates a link that looks similar to the example 1 below, where the URL does not work when it is clicked or pasted into a browser since the information about the document is missing from the URL that is generated.

Example:

http://docushare.mycompany.com/dscgi/ds.py/Get/File-1200765

Note: When a user does the same procedure for an Office 2003 document the result is a link that looks similar to the following example where the link works fine since it includes the document name.

Example:

http:// docushare.mycompany.com /dscgi/ds.py/Get/File-1200765/document_name

Solution

This inconsistency has been fixed in 6.0.6 (build 101) or newer.
