Why Are The Search Results Different from the DocuShare Windows Client vs the DocuShare Web UI?
DocuShare Web UI Searches
When using the DocuShare Web UI to search, it searches for the document content by default, often giving the appearance of finding more results than then when using the DocuShare Windows Client.
Note: The Default setting in the Web is "Any Part". This can be viewed by clicking on the drop down arrow for Simple Search.
DocuShare Windows Client Searches
When using the DocuShare Windows Client to search, the "basic" search from the Title & Location tab only searches for Title Contains.
In order to get the same search results from the DocuShare Windows Client as the DocuShare Web UI you must do an Advanced search in the DocuShare Windows Client.
To use the Advanced Search Option in the DocuShare Windows Client:
1. From the DocuShare Find Files window. Select the Advanced Search tab.
2. Verify that Any Part and Contains are selected from the drop down menu.
3. Enter the word or phrase that you are searching for in the third window.
4. Click the Find Now button. This should result in the same search results as the DocuShare Web UI search.
Note: The Title contains field on the Title & Location must blank otherwise it will bring the search results for Title contains only.
