Issue:
When an Office 2007 document is checked out via either the Web UI or via the DocuShare client. The following error is displayed:
DocuShare Client does not have automatic check-out and check-in support for the selected file. ‘C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\DocuShare\Work\WIP\....
Press ‘Yes’ to let Windows try to start an editor program based on the file name. When you are done editing, you will be able to check in the modified file back to DocuShare using an assistant window.
If you just want to browse the file, press ‘No’ here, go to Explorer, and select ‘Browse’ from the menu.
Solution:
1. Right click on the DocuShare Client Icon in the Windows System Tray and select DocuShare Client Settings. The DocuShare Client Properties window displays.
2. Select the Document tab.
3. Under the Windows Explorer heading clear the checkbox labeled Limit checkout to registered.
4. Click the OK button to apply the changes.
5. Try to check out an Office 2007 document again.
