Note: This applies to Acrobat Reader X.
Issue
An Error window is displayed with opening a PDF in the DocuShare Client after upgrading or installing Acrobat Reader X.
Solution
Uninstall and Reinstall the DocuShare Windows Client.
To Uninstall and Reinstall the DocuShare Windows Client:
Prerequisite:
· Must have a copy of the DSClient.msi downloaded and extracted.
The latest DocuShare Windows Client is available for download here:
http://docushare.xerox.com/downloads/client/english.html
· The DocuShare Client installation involves copying and configuring system shell extension and service libraries. The user installing the DocuShare Client must be a local system admin because of the installation tasks that are done during the installation process.
1. Uninstall the DocuShare Windows Client.
2. Reboot the Workstation.
3. Delete the C:\Program Files\Xerox\DSClient directory.
Note: Depending on your installation environment the path may vary.
4. Reinstall the DocuShare Windows Client.
5. Reboot the workstation.
6. From My DocuShare Places, map Server by double-clicking Map Server and providing the information to connect to your DocuShare Server when prompted.
7. Once the Server is mapped, test opening a PDF again.
