Issue
Unable to save a document to DocuShare using the DocuShare Windows Client (DSClient).
A DocuShare window will display the following error.
DocuShare Client does not recognize the editor application. Access is denied.
Replication Steps:
Open a document in a non-registered application.
Click Save As.
Browse to Documents and click My DocuShare Places as the destination.
The error message will display.
Reason / Possible Cause
The editor being used with the DocuShare Windows Client (DSClient) may not be a standard / registered editor in the DSClient.
Workaround
Disable the Allow entry from registered editors only
Note: You must be a Windows Administrator to perform this solution.
Right-click the DocuShare Windows Client icon and select DocuShare Client Settings.
Select the Document tab.
In the Windows Common Open / Save As Dialogs section verify the Allow Entry from registered editors only checkbox is not selected.
Click Apply.
Reboot the PC.
Click Save As.
Select My DocuShare Places.
The Configure DocuShare File Browse Dialog window will display, select I am saving a file to DocuShare.
Click Next.
Select the editor in the drop down menu and click Finish.
Right-click the DocuShare Windows Client icon and select DocuShare Client Settings.
Select the Document tab, Under the Windows Common Open / Save As Dialogs section click the More button.
Highlight the Editor in the list of Registered Applications click Enable.
Click Close.
Click OK.
