Note: This applies to the DocuShare Windows Client (DSClient)
Note: You must be a Windows Administrator to perform this solution.
Warning: Back up the Registry file before editing. Changes made to the Windows registry can cause the operating system to stop functioning and may require reinstalling Windows.
Issue
Unable to search from the DSclient; HTTP 500 error appears when performing a search (find) on any collection.
Note: This solution is intended for a DSclient install that has been isolated as the only machine that exhibits this issue.
Solution
1. Verify that the same search can be performed from the DocuShare Web User Interface (UI) and from other workstations.
Note: If the same search cannot be performed from the DocuShare Web UI or from other workstations then do not proceed with this solution as it is not an isolated issue.
2. Open the Registry editor on the workstation. The Registry Editor window displays.
3. From the Registry Editor open HKEY Current User | Software | Xerox | DocuShare | DocuShare Client.
4. Delete the DSFind key from the registry.
Note: If you do not see the DSFIND Resgistry key displayed, then a search has not been performed from the Client. This key is only added after performing a search.
5. Open DSClient and try searching again. This will recreate the DSFind Registry key.
