Issue
The DSClient Administrative Installation was used by an Administrator to create a customized installation image (.msi).
Note: During the Administrative installation some of the following options can be configured:
• Pre-selecting a set of installable Client features
• Specifying an alternative common folder where each user's work folder appears
• Specifying a DocuShare server to automatically map to each user's My DocuShare Places
Once the customized install (.msi) is created and used to install the DocuShare Client the settings that were configured in the administrative installation are not being honored and are prompted for user input to configure.
Reason / Possible Cause
When running a customized installation package that is pre-configured the administrator that is running the installation on the workstation must chose typical install.
Note: If custom install is selected then the installation package will bypass the pre-configured options and will be fully configurable. The pre-configured options will not be used.
Solution
When running the customized installation package select Typical install.
Note: During a typical installation of a customized installation package of the DSClient,
1. Double-click the dsclient.msi icon to launch the customized installer.
2. The Release Notes screen will be displayed for review. (which lists fixes, known issues, specification, etc…)
3. Accept the License Agreement.
4. Select Typical Install. If the installation is customized no other screens or options will be displayed because they are pre-configured.
