Note: This applies to DocuShare 6.5.x, 6.6.1 and 7.
Note: You must be an Administrator to perform this solution.
Prerequisite:
• A shared folder created on the DocuShare Server.
To Configure the Content Intake Manager
1. On the DocuShare site, log in as admin, click Admin Home, and go to Services and Components | Content Intake | Configuration. The Content Intake page will display.
2. Select Flat Files from the Category drop down menu. The Type field will automatically populate with Flat Files with No Metadata.
3. In the Name field type a unique name to assign to the instance. Example: Flat_File_Socket
4. Place a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Enabled.
5. In the Default User Handle field, enter the DocuShare handle of the user who will be the owner of Documents created in DocuShare. Example: User-2
6. In the Target Root Collection Handle field, enter the DocuShare handle of the Collection where you want Flat File Documents uploaded from the Watch Directory.
7. In the Watch Directory field, enter the location where content is submitted. Enter a UNC path or a local directory. Example: C:\invoice or \\Server\invoice.
8. In the Polling Interval field, enter the interval, in millisecond, for the Content Intake Manager to check the exports sub-directory for new content. The default value is 60000.
9. In the File Extension field, enter the document format of the uploaded content. Enter the file extension corresponding to the document format.
Note: When entering multiple file extensions, separate each extension with a comma; do not use spaces or periods. The Content Intake Manager only uploads content whose document format is identified by a file extension. Example: pdf, doc
10. Click the Create button.
11. Test by placing a file in the watch directory.
