Note: This solution applies to DocuShare 6.x
Prerequisites
· Direct Scan to DocuShare or scan coversheets must already be working.
· If you are using a custom Document Property it must already be created
Solution:
Note: You must be a Site Administrator to perform this solution.
1. Gather the information required for configuring the WorkCentre Pro Scanning Device
a. Login to DocuShare as admin
b. On the navigation bar, click Admin Home. The Administration UI displays.
c. Click the [+] sign next to Object Properties
d. Click the Document link.
e. Select the Property you would like to populate with a Document Management Field at the Scanner and click Edit
f. Make a note of the following field values Name, Label, Default Value. You will need this information for the next step.
NOTE: It is very important that you record the Name value exactly as it appears (this value is case sensitive)
2. Configure the WorkCentre Pro Document Management Field
NOTE: Steps provided below may vary depending on the model of WorkCentre Pro you are using, you will need to adjust the steps to match the model you are working with.
a. Open the CentreWare Web interface in a browser
NOTE: If you are prompted for a username and password, the machine default username is admin and the password is 1111. (default value on most models)
b. Click on Scan and select the template used to scan to DocuShare to open its properties.
c. Under Document Management Fields (Optional) heading click the Add button.
d. In the Field Name (Required): box type the field Name value of the DocuShare object property you recorded in step 1.
e. Next to the field User Editable select Editable
f. Under Field Label (Required): type the Label value of the DocuShare object property you recorded in step 1.
g. In the Default Value (Optional): field type the Default Value of the DocuShare object, if applicable.
h. Select any other options that are desired.
i. Click the Apply button to Save the changes.
Note: If you are scanning using Cover sheets (glyphscan) the Name of the Object Property will not be populated if it is not in lowercase. This issue has been fixed in DS661p2hf11 and will be included in DS661p3 (AR 20368).
